Going for Goals

Many motivational speakers talk about how important it is to be focused on the task in front of you. If you're an athlete, this becomes very important if you're preparing for an event or competition. I find myself very focused on my training to the point that I let the housework slide, which I think is perfectly fine. You can't be 100% at everything if you are truly to be 100%.

However today I had to take a housecleaning break. I cleaned our place from stem to stern and everything is now nice and organized.

I booked my second consultation with the surgeon and it doesn't look like I will be able to have the surgery until late May, which is perfectly fine - I've been in contemplation mode for a long time, so waiting a few months is no problem. In the meantime I'm going to keep enjoying my training. Next Friday is the first Adventure Race - it's called "One Night in Vegas" which I'm looking forward to immensely.

Funny, that's exactly how I feel about housework.

I had one of those days last Saturday, scrubbed the house from top to bottom. Luckily, THAT urge doesn't strike me too often.

Yep-I've become more slack with the housework as well since I've become obsessed with competing-lol! I do the necessary tidy up daily-but one big clean on sundays only. I should do more-but it'll just get dirty again anyway-right?!
Good luck with your op! How exciting!

Funny!! I am sitting here procrastinating about doing some domestic goddess jobs before I go to the gym. Always great once it's done though.

Hope the second consultation is as productive and as informative as the first with the surgeon, Before you know it it will be May ;)

have a great weekend,

Hi Liz, housework takes a back seat to training in our house too! Unfortunately with two of us eating six meals a day it doesn't take long for the dishes to pile up. Looking forward to hearing how your adventure race goes.

Hi Hun :)
I have trouble juggling my housework and training, I wish I could be more relaxed but I find it hard as our home becomes a pig pen the minute the kids and hubby are about!
Good luck with your race hun hope you have fun :)
